Elmhurst Accredited Energy Assessor

Energy Performance Certificates

All properties bought, sold or rented require an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

EPC's are legally required for any building that is to be put on the market for sale or for rental purposes irrespective of whether you are selling or renting privately, or using an Estate Agent.

The purpose of an EPC is to tell you how energy efficient your property is. The energy efficiency is worked out on a scale of A-G. If your property is very energy efficient and has very low fuel bills then you will be in band A. If your property is very low in energy efficiency and you have very high fuel bills then you will be in band G.

The Energy Performance Certificate also informs you of how your energy consumption affects the environment.

For example if you have an energy efficient property (band A) then you are having much less impact on the environment than a property in Band G.

Only authorised DEA’s (Domestic Energy Assessors) are able to issue the EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) to you.

John Gardner is accredited with Elmhurst Energy and is CRB checked.

Appointments are usually arranged within 24 hours of instruction, enabling  an EPC to be provided within 24 hours. Once the EPC is ready to be issued, a copy will be e-mailed to you or your estate agents, however a paper copy of your certificate can be supplied, if required.
